"Now the main goal is to return where he stopped before his crash in the 2020 season, competing on a world class level with the top athletes. This is why I chose Global Racing!"

Born: 20/02/1995

Nationality: Italian

Hometown: Ahrntal/Sand in Taufers, Italy

Background:

Simon had his first tries on skis at the age of 3. He started on the hills of Klausberg in the Ahrntal valley where he grew up. Since he was little he wanted to become a professional ski racer, so he attended the Ski High School of Mals.

Straight after the final exams he was nominated by the Italian national team and in the same year 2014, he got to start his first World Cup Race in Sölden(Aut) at the age of 19.

In the following years he managed to grab some really good results between FIS and Europa Cup races for a total of 6 victories and 10 podiums in the Europa Cup. He also won the overall title of the Europa Cup in the 2018/2019 season.

His biggest achievement came in 2019 where he won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Åre(Swe) in the team event by being the only one to win all of his four runs.

The 2019/2020 season was his most successful but also the hardest one.

He was climbing the world cup standings by beating his personal best results race by race until Schladming with a 5th place. The following race in Chamonix Simon crashed and tore his acl, meniscus and cartilage in his right knee.

The following seasons he struggled a lot to find his real shape again, but another two top 10 results in the World Cup showed that he still had it.
